Richmond Equestrian centre has recently changed ownership to Mr and Mrs Andrew and Abigail Turnbull. Andrew and Abigail would like to keep the format that works for Richmond Horse Trials but are putting their own subtle changes to the running and lay out of the event. Preparations for the British Eventing Horse Trials 31st August, 1st and 2nd Sept are well under way, take off and landings have recently been replaced. Schedule and entries are now open
REC are also hosting an unaffiliated ODE on Sun 9th Sept, entries are now open https://www.equineaffairs.com/eventdetails.aspx?id=268693. There will also be an 80cm course being introduced to the unaffiliated course on Mon 3rd Sept in preparation for the 9th.
The ground is in peak condition with good grass coverage. The ground at Richmond is managed extremely carefully throughout the year with the Horse Trials in mind in order to maintain the high reputation that we have built up over the years for perfect cross country conditions.
Jamie Innes, our cross-country designer has been working closely with Moray Nicholson, our course builder, to create his usual interesting and stunning courses for the competitors with plenty of questions for both horse and rider. Two water complexes add to the variety of the 4 courses with all competitors taking them on. The new bank that was commissioned for the 2017 will give riders a challenge once again.
Donna and Rennie Wood, who manage the Arenas at Richmond Equestrian Centre, have been working hard to ensure that the show jumping arenas are in their usual tip-top condition for the event. A brand new set of Aluminium state the art show jumps will be making a debut for the HT. The courses will be designed and built by Tracy Barraclough once again so expect to see some impressive tracks in an outstanding location.

Please get in touch if you feel you can help in any way, email firstname.lastname@example.org, call 07769216595.
